"Michael O'Leary Michael has travelled far
and wide in his search for stories; from the bottom of his garden
to the nearest
pub. He has a particular interest in BunkFest as his mum was a
girl in nearby Cholsey in the 1930s and 40s and remembers travelling
on the Wallingford Bunk steam railway which would stop and wait
for you if you were late, and swimming in the River Thames avoiding
the Salter steamers... she was swimming in the Thames when war
broke out. Michael's dad, Paddy O'Leary, comes, as the name suggests,
from a little further west...Wales! All these family influences
have helped shape Michael into the generally confused individual
he now is... that's what makes a storyteller. Oh, and the stories
come with music; it's all attention seeking. "

Michael O'Leary tells "Guenevere's Funeral - the
long tramping road to Eden"
"The title comes from a legend that Guenevere's
funeral cortege can sometimes be seen travelling from Amesbury
to Glastonbury. Michael assures us that if you sit, of an
evening, in the garden of the excellent Barge Inn in Honeystreet
in the Vale of Pewsey, you might sometimes see the silhouette
of Guenevere's funeral cortege against the evening sky -
The Road to Eden is a group of stories based around tracks,
green lanes and ancient paths."
Mike was a great hit at the Earthouse when he last performed
there.
Suitable for all ages - £7 for adults and £3.50
for under 16's (including a complimentary drink during the
interval)

NOTE:
For pre Summer 2003 stuff, you can take a look at the newspaper
cuttings for some of the press coverage Mike has acrued in the past,
that is of course if you are a Luddite
who uses Adobe Acrobat. ( I believe both Mike & I prefer the
Rebecca
Rioters to the Luddites as they had far better dress sense - engraving
left from the Illustrated London News. 1843 )
